South Carolina lottery player wins $2.5M on scratch-off ticket

WOODRUFF, S.C. — A lucky lottery player who purchased a ticket in Woodruff, South Carolina, has become the state’s newest millionaire.

The Upstate winner scored $2.5 million playing the Magnificent Jumbo Bucks scratch-off game and chose to keep their identity private.

Lottery officials said the winner beat 1 in 1.72 million odds to claim the $2.5 million prize from a $20 Magnificent Jumbo Bucks ticket bought at Nick’s Mart on North Main Street in Woodruff.

Three more $2.5 million prizes remain in the Magnificent Jumbo Bucks game.

Nick’s Mart received a commission of $25,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
